blue lipsticks

Do you ever do something that surprises you? Maybe your likes and dislikes have changed or maybe you’re just open to something new. Well that’s what happened to me. I have to admit that I was actually watching this wig review video but I noticed the lip color the girl was wearing more than the wig. It was blue!  But this blue on her looked really good! So I thought I would take a look at some of the newer hues of blue, green and gray shades of lipstick.  First, let’s check out blue lipsticks.[Read More]

Beauty Begins with Skincare

January 30, 2017 By Siobhan Leave a Comment · Affiliate Disclosure Policy

Beauty Begins with SkincareThe best start to looking great is clean and healthy skin. I have always struggled with my skin and trying to find what works best for me. I wash my face twice a day. It is so important to wash your makeup off every night before bed. I like to use makeup removal wipes before I wash and moisturize my skin. In this post, you will find my favorite products and why I like to use them. My skin is pretty in-between. It’s not really oily but it isn’t dry either. I have moments where my skin gets a little oily and then in the winter, my skin is more dry than usual. Skincare is so important, not just on your face but your entire body as well.

Skincare – CleansingAveeno Cleansing Pads

My absolute favorite skin cleanser is Aveeno Active Naturals Clear Complexion Daily Cleansing Pads. I use these every day, twice a day. They leave my skin feeling so clean and soft. It doesn’t make my skin dry or oily and it keeps me from breaking out.

My overall complexion is better and I notice a difference in my skin using this cleanser versus others that I have tried in the past. My mother introduced me to these cleansing pads and I have been using them for over a year.

I buy this product every other week. It comes with 28 pads and I use 2 per day, so it lasts me 2 weeks. I have also noticed that my blemishes are lighter. Because of the struggles that I have had in the past, I have quite a few blemishes on my cheeks and chin. They are nowhere near as dark as they used to be. For a long time, I was uncomfortable going outside my house without makeup. That isn’t the case anymore.

Skincare – Moisturizing

Aveeno MoisturizerMoisturizing your skin is so important. I had such a hard time trying to find the right moisturizer for my skin. I wanted something that didn’t leave my skin feeling oily. I also had to make sure that the moisturizer contained the right amount of SPF to protect my skin from the sun’s rays. I really like Aveeno Active Naturals Positively Radiant Daily Moisturizer. I like the way my skin feels after using it. It still feels fresh and clean. My skin remains soft and it doesn’t feel greasy. So far, I have liked each Aveeno product that I have used. They haven’t let me down.

Skincare – Makeup Removal

Always remove your makeup before bed. My mother has always stressed the importance of washing the makeup off of my face before I retire to bed each night. Read this article Neutrogena Makeup Removerfrom Neutrogena to understand why it is so important to clean the makeup off of your face daily. I like to use the Neutrogena Fragrance-Free Make-Up Remover Cleansing Towelettes. They are fragrance-free and don’t damage my skin. These cleaning towelettes completely remove the makeup off of my face before I clean it with my Aveeno Cleansing Pads. The towelettes are soft on my skin and don’t leave it feeling dry.

What products do you like to use each day? I am always looking for products that I haven’t tried that will improve my overall skin health. Do you use supplements that help your skin? I am looking for supplements now and hope to have a post up soon on my findings.
