I have to admit that I was actually watching this wig review video but I noticed the lip color the girl was wearing more than the wig. It was blue! But this blue on her looked really good! So I thought I would take a look at some of the newer hues of blue, green and gray shades of lipstick. First, let’s check out blue lipsticks.

I know for some people that’s not new. Shades of blue lipsticks have been around for quite a while. But like me, I think for most of u s it wasn’t even something we consider buying much less wearing.
Now before you get nervous and start thinking you would look like Mystique from the X-Men, hang on! Maybe you don’t need to be a rebel to go royal.

Which Blue is You?
Our first stop is at MAC of course. MAC Cosmetics actually has many shades of blue lipstick or lipcolour. Matte Royal is a rich, deep blue with hints of purple. To be sure royal comes to mind with this lipstick.
Believe it or not, blue is very versatile. There is a blue to compliment any skin tone.
I have to admit, this was the first of the blue lipsticks that I actually even considered. I saw it on display at the drug store and really considered it. Part of Maybelline’s New York Color Sensational The Loaded Bolds Collection, Sapphire Siren is making me want to be blue.
Cover Girl makes a blue statement with Katy Kat Pearl Lipstick Collection in Blue-Tiful Kitty. This shade is considerably lighter and softer than the bolder of blues.

Diving into a liquid lipstick, Kat Von D Everlasting Liquid Lipstick ” Echo – Satin Navy Blue makes an impression. A bit on the high-end, but this lipstick vows full coverage, long-wear and a smooth matte finish.
Blue Not You?
Not ready for a blue lipstick? Well, I wouldn’t be a card carrying makeup addict if I didn’t have a few options up my sleeve.

Believe it or not, gray can be in play. Colourpop’s Matte X Lippie Stix (Climax) is a different shade of blue. More of a purple-bluish tone, try this with a red dress and turn some eyes.
I’ve been in love with Lime Crime for a very long time (hey, that rhymes). Their colors are intense. Velvetines Liquid Matte Lipstick in Cement is a deep, rich gray.
While it’s true blue is not new, but hue is the clue. There are so many shades of blue, maybe one just for you. So just in case you WANT to have a Blue Christmas, you might want to pick one of these up to spark a new look into your make up routine.
